The Aloe vera is a tropical succulent that has been used for centuries for its medicinal effect. The aloe vera has various nicknames such as medicine plant, wonder plant, natural healer, first aid plant, plant of immortality etc. In short; the pharmacy in your windowsill.

Because we care

OVATA supports the ‘Because We Care’ project for women in Uganda. Since 2012 we support the maintenance of the fields and the distribution of the cuttings. Click on the button below for more information about the ‘Because We Care’ project.

The Aloe vera cover has been developed to refer to this project and is supplied free of charge to protect the plant. OVATA has won the Greenovation Award for ‘Best Concept’ at the Royal FloraHolland Trade Fair in 2018.

It’s easy to harvest an Aloe vera leaf for gel. Harvest only leaves from mature plants to ensure a high concentration of active ingredients.

  1. Cut a thick, mature leaf close to the stem
  2. Trim the spiky edges off with a knife
  3. Cut the leaf in half
  4. Scoop out the gel
